Bruce will continue under contract to Agatha Christie Ltd., with SPIDER'S WEB in which he will be playing Sir Rowland Delahaye. This production, directed by Joe Harmston, opens at the Theatre Royal Windsor from 12th January 2009 until 19th Jan. It then opens in Worthing on 21st January, and then on to Barnstaple before a full tour until August 2009.

Bruce's training at the RADA was interrupted by National conscription. He served in Malaya with 656 Squadron, as an aerial photographer. His early years in repertory included Birmingham and Colchester. He appeared in well over a hundred plays in his first 3 years (including HAMLET!). For a year he was leading man in an early incarnation of the Welsh National Theatre under Warren Jenkins. Under contracts to both the Old Vic and HM Tennant, he appeared in several plays with Vivien Leigh, including LA DAME AUX CAMELLIAS, TWELFTH NIGHT, DUEL OF ANGELS and LA CONTESSA - directed by Robert Helpmann. From 1967 until 1970, he was out of the country, producing and directing in Australia and New Zealand. With Anthony Richardson, he co-founded the Mercury Theatre in Auckland.

T.V. Best known as Leonard in Carla Lane's BBC series, BUTTERFLIES - which ran from 1978 to 1983, he has well over 200 other TV credits including: DIMENSIONS OF FEAR (ABC serial) and CRANE (Rediffusion series) both in the the early 60s - through THE ALFA PLAN (NZBC series) and THE LINKMEN (TCN9 series) - SHARON & ELSIE (BBC 83-84), WHOOPS, APOCALYPSE! (as The Shah, LWT serial 1985), FOR MADDIE - WITH LOVE (Thames 84), THE SAINT, THE BARON, THE PROTECTORS, THE PUBLIC EYE, SECRET ARMY, ONEDIN LINE, KEEPING UP APPEARANCES, DOCTORS and many others.
Films include: 20,000 SUSPECTS (Val Guest), THIEF OF BAGHDAD (Clive Donner), GEORGE AND MILDRED (Thames), THE VISION (BBC), EX with Griff Rhys Jones; et cetera.

Theatre: Several hundred plays including: TOUCH OF SPRING (Comedy Theatre), IN THE RED (Whitehall), ROSS (Old Vic), BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS (Strand Theatre), TWO FOR THE SEESAW, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (London Palladium - with Topol), EDUCATING RITA, OLIVER! (London Palladium 97-99), NINETEENTH HOLE (with Eric Sykes), ROUGH CROSSING (also with Eric), CHARLEY'S AUNT (also with Eric), DEATHTRAP, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Her Majestys Theatre 02-03), JANE EYRE (05), and so on.
He played Abner Dillon, the sugar-daddy, in the National Tour of 42nd STREET until Xmas 07. And then Baron Hardup in CINDERELLA at the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill (Gatwick).
